This website is supported by all South Island Lines companies and is intended to make it easier for you to apply for Over Dimension Consents, especially when the consent applies across Line company boundaries.
Overhead lines clearance from the road surface may have changed overtime as a result of road resurfacing, vehicle coming in contact with the poles or soil disturbances caused by nature.
A High Load consent is required when transporting loads with an overall height of 4.8 meters and higher to secure electricity supply and ensure safety to the general public. Approval will be given based on the height and application time frames stated below:
Height (Metres) | Conditions |
---|---|
4.3 – 5.0(Up to 2 working days) |
|
5.0 – 5.3(Up to 3 working days) |
|
5.3 – 5.9(Up to 5 working days) |
|
5.9 -6.5(Up to 10 working days) |
|
Over 6.5(Up to 10 working days) |
|
Note: More information detailing good practice for the safe transport of high loads through network areas is available from Electricity Engineers Association Publications “Transport of High Loads” (Guide)
Once an application is made and submitted, each affected Lines company will be emailed with the particulars of your application. You still need a consent for every Lines company the over dimension load will travel though.
It is your responsibility to ensure you receive a consent from all affected lines companies, before proceeding.
